Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has been the ruling the game console market since 2007 but Sony’s PlayStation 3 is fast catching up. But Microsoft will not taking this sitting down; in order to catch up with PS3, it has announced several updates on its package including a price slash of around $299 of its 20GB version. Also, it will sell 60GB consoles at $349 and provides updates through their Xbox live.
Meanwhile, Sony has integrated new and exciting features on its XMB interface. Moreover, the company had already slashed its prices before the Xbox took this route. According to NPD, retailers were able to sell 208,700 units of the PS3 compared to 186,000 units of Xbox 360 consoles in the United States.
