The goal of the Smash Court Tennis 3 is to create the best non-fiction sports game so that players will get the feeling of playing “real tennis”. Just last year, the Smash Court Tennis 3 was only available in a single platform: the PlayStation Portable. But this exclusivity ends this summer and the game will be made available to the Xbox 360. You can expect new gameplay and content created specifically for the Microsoft gaming console.

According to Rio Nakata, the Product Producer of the game, “We focused on the single-player mode for which the core of the gameplay is basically the same in both versions.” One of the main differences is that more content is made available in the new version. In addition, the characters have been improved and new motion data was added.

Typically, games first appear as the console version then move towards the handheld version. However, in the case of Smash Court Tennis 3, the opposite was true. It is no wonder then that developing this game for the Xbox 3 was challenging to its manufacturers. “A lot of the game content had to be developed and programmed again from the very beginning,” since it cannot easily adapt to the Xbox 360 version.
