Real Time Strategy games and consoles generally don’t mesh well together. There are always problems with control speed and not enough buttons on a controller to command everything you need in an RTS. A new game coming out for the Xbox 360 called Universe at War hopes to change all that. I haven’t had a chance to play this game, but the screenshots and video look absolutely amazing.
Here’s what IGN had to say about the game: “What Petroglyph has done is to take the basic framework and use it to create a game with three wildly unique but finely balanced factions that each offer a level of real-time customization that gives players a chance to really adapt to the changing circumstances on the battlefield. Unfortunately, the game’s campaign doesn’t do justice to the overall design while a number of sticky interface and performance problems add to the frustrations.”
